On 19 February, the poetic encounter with the work of Stanisław Barańczak attracted crowds to the Manggha Museum. Friends of the artist, who died just two months earlier, remembered Barańczak, among them were Ewa Lipska, Bronisław Maj and Ryszard Krynicki. Grzegorz Turnau sang texts translated by Barańczak, and Marek Kondrat presented Shakespeare’s sonnets. In the musical part of the programme, the audience listened to fragments of the Krakow Opera’s Winter Journey spectacle. The organiser of the event was the a5 publishing house, longtime publisher of Stanisław Barańczak’s poetry.
