Transatlantyk Award

On 12 June the Transatlantyk Award was granted for the third time. This is the annual Polish Book Institute award given out to an outstanding ambassador and promoter of Polish literature abroad. This time it was received by Laurence Dyèvre, French translator of Bobkowski, Tyrmand, Zagajewski, Pilch, Kołakowski, Miłosz, Mrożek and Lem. The Award Committee was composed of Elizabeth Tabakowska, Jerzy Jarzębski and Karol Lesman, and chaired by the Director of the Polish Book Institute. The prize is 10 000 EUR and a statuette created by Łukasz Kieferling.
